Delivered as a single, face to face day in Melbourne (Re)Certification is an intensive and activity packed day running participants through all of the obedience, manners, application skills and scenarios that form the Therapy Dog and handler assessments. (Re)Certification allows graduates to refresh and recap on their skills after graduation. It also allows teams to Re-Certify once their original Certification has expired (usually after 1 year). This course is also open to Certified Handlers, Advanced Handlers and Certified Practitioners who want to certify a second or subsequent dog, and don’t feel they need to attend the entire Foundational or Advanced practicums or again. Teams can certify at the Foundation level, Advanced level, or Multi-Dog Group.
If you have been impacted by Covid-19 restrictions, you may be eligible to attend this course online via Zoom. Please note, we can only re-certify existing dogs who have previously undergone a face to face assessment. Handlers will need to supply additional video evidence and sign a statutory declaration as to their dogs ongoing competence.
